Our next rec time was called the Lake of Fire... though I keep referring to it as the Fire Swamp, for some reason! Three couples were on each team. They had three planks of wood to use to navigate themselves from one stump to the next without anybody (or the wood) touching the red rocks (lake of fire) below. They would have to go so far and then pass the planks along to move farther. Fun. :-)
The Hatch boys were fun to watch, too--they had some new ideas of how to make it across.
The kids worked together to try it, too. This is Katie & Rebekah
Oops. More of the couple teams from the beginning.
Ha! These two were so fun to watch! Naomi kept holding on to Morgan's head to keep from falling off the stump...
Of course, maneuvering the planks is more difficult for some people than others... ;-)
Toward the end, Brother Chris and Jon decided to see if they could make it WITHOUT the planks. They couldn't. But it made for some great pictures. :-)
Jon's jumping abilities have always amazed me. It doesn't matter how much... his form develops over the years (!), he still gets better height and distance than most guys.
Love the shadow in this shot.
Haley took this picture. She had just pointed out to me that I was standing in the lake of fire. Ha!

Great picture of you Bec. :-)
LOve the ones of the Jon and Chris jumping. Fun pictures.
The kids and I laughed and laughed at their Dad and Brother Chris jumping!
I probably have a dozen pictures of Jon & Brother Chris leaping from stump to stump. They're so great. :-)
